On a new size of 165x125mm, a new minting technique called “Tri-metal” was applied to give this piece its remarkable weight while keeping its proportions true to the actual painting. This is made possible by combining 750g of 999 fine Zinc as a center layer and 120g of 999 fine copper as a base with a top layer of 2.5 oz of 999 fine silver, resulting in a high relief.

This is a limited edition of 399 pieces only. “Sunflowers” is one of the most famous and celebrated works by Vincent Van Gogh. Created in 1889, this painting is characterized by its vibrant colors, expressive brushwork and profound emotional depth. The heart of the painting is a simple vase adorned with fifteen sunflowers in various stages of life. The sunflowers burst with vivid yellows and oranges, radiating a sense of energy and life, van Gogh’s choice of colors was deliberating, as he believed that the vivid yellow petals symbolized the warmth of friendship and happiness, values he held dear.

Due to the mental health issues that plagued van Gogh, his artistic expression was often a way to cope with his inner turmoil. The sunflowers’ vibrant yet to fragile existence, mirrors the complexities of the artist’s own psyche marked by moments of brilliance, struggle and despair.
