Australia’s Wedge-Tailed Eagle Series celebrates its 10th Anniversary in 2024, and to pay tribute to what has become one of the world’s most popular annual releases, the world-renowned Perth Mint has issued a special series of Proof coins that are available only on a limited basis! Here you can secure the 2024 Wedge Tailed Eagle 10th Anniversary Proof struck in three ounces of highly pure 99.99% silver that features a special one-time obverse design that will be used only for 2024 Wedge Tailed Eagles Proof coins!
This spectacular coin is the showcase for the ninth Wedge Tailed Eagle design from John Mercanti, 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. It shows Australia’s largest bird of prey from a unique perspective as if it were flying overhead, its giant wings spread and silhouetted by the sun. It also features the inscription “10th ANNIVERARY AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE” along with the coin’s date, weight, and silver purity. In addition, there is a “P125” mint mark in honor of the Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary. The coin’s obverse features the effigy of King Charles III and a small Wedge Tailed Eagle inset at the top of the design that mimics the original 2014 release, a special one-year-only element reserved exclusively for the Wedge Tailed Eagle Proof coins.
This intricate design is an instant classic. The detail is so exquisite you can see every feather from the bird’s gigantic wings to its powerful fully feathered legs. The image is truly the prefect blend of design, precious metal, and collector appeal. Plus, the coin was expertly crafted by the mint from hand-selected planchets, polished dies and multiple strikes to produce beautifully frosted details rising over mirror-like fields giving it a Proof finish that is unsurpassed in visual appeal. In addition, each coin will come in its original government packaging and accompanied by a mint-issued Certificate of Authenticity.
