Puzzles are a cultural tradition in many places, and there is something really soothing about sorting and completing a puzzle piece by piece. The more interesting the subject matter of the puzzle, the more fun it is to work on. With all the new interest in sending humans to other planets, what can be more interesting than Mars these days? The beautiful rendering of this incredible planet that we are just starting to understand better makes this piece really stunning visually. Viewers of this art will feel like they can place the last pieces into the puzzle because the detail is so delicate. Being able to commemorate the special feelings that puzzles give us when we complete them is really special and adding the sense that the puzzle is leaping to life from the work of art is genius. This is one of a series of works that depict the planets in all their glory. This lovely work offers great attention to detail as well as delicacy and artistic precision that would be hard to find in other pieces with a similar subject matter. The bright reddish tint of Mars is clear in this piece, and the swirling, sandy, impenetrable nature of this planet is clear even in this work of art.
A new minting technique called “Bi-Metal Max” was applied to give this piece its remarkable weight and 60mm diameter – double the size of the regular 1-ounce collectible. This is made possible by combining 4.5 ounces of copper as a base with a top layer of 1-ounce of 999 fine Silver, resulting in a super high relief topped with precise color printing and silver antiqued finishing. This is a limited edition of 688 pieces only. Each piece is packaged and delivered with a Certificate verifying its edition number and authenticity.
