This spectacular 2-ounce silver coin is the second issue of the exclusive 5-coin series called “Vikings”. The coin tells us about Freydís Eiríksdóttir – the daughter of a Viking legend. Freydís Eiríksdóttir was a Norse woman said to be the daughter of Erik the Red, who is associated with the Norse exploration of North America and the discovery of Vinland with his son Leif Erikson.
In the reverse, this numismatic item contains a high-relief image of Freydis Eiriksdottir, with a golden sword in her right hand, jumping from a Viking ship to fight. The coin also features the decorated ship arches, wooden shield and runic iconography. The obverse is also very interesting, as it has an original circular motif of Nordic runes, both inside and outside of a border area, and it features the typical effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin is finished in an antique finish and rimless with selective gilding. It is also decorated with high relief. Each coin is packed in a beautiful wood case with a colorful graphic dust jacket and has a certificate of authenticity from the Mint of Poland, with a serial number etched on the rim of the coin. The low mintage is limited to 500 coins for global distribution.
